Sparky, Nigel and Ian Ross gave a clinic on 'Introduction to competition' covering all aspects of wavesailing and competition format. Amateur Chris Willcocks commented "If I had known half this stuff 10 years ago I might have won a few more heats!". BWA Tour Manager, Nigel Treacy said: "We have run this clinic several times and will continue to pop it into future events. Its a great way of breaking down the white mist surrounding competition".
After lunch all competitors assembled on the beach to take part in the new BWA 'Board tossing' competition. Board brands will be pleased to hear that Bucky donated a relic custom board!
The competition got just as serious and firey as the wave comps with Sam Neal and Alfie Hart going head to head in the final. Alfie took the crown. In the ladies, AWT organiser Sam Bittner, made a special appearance and won the ladies category.
As I write this the competitors are readying themselves for this evening curry meal followed by Hawaiian-themed party....with a light forecast for tomorrow, it could get very messy!
