2020 Update on Tiree Wave Classic - from TWC host William Maclean

 _It’s On!!!_

Tiree Wave Classic is now entering the final phase before the event potentially takes place from the 10th-16th (inclusive) October 2020!
We are working closely in conjunction with the British Wavesailing Association, RYA Scotland, Tiree Community Development Trust, Argyll & Bute Council, Event Scotland and Caledonian MacBrayne as well as our primary private industry sponsor for 2020 - The Scottish Salmon Company, to ensure that we can deliver a safe and successful event this year...
Tiree Wave Classic is likely to be the only event sanctioned by the BWA in the UK this year and is set to be the first international sports event in Scotland, as Scotland and the UK continue to exit from the Covid 19 lockdown.
There will be some notable changes in the format of this years event in order to make the event as safe as possible for competitors, organisers and the population of the Isle of Tiree.
Key changes will include the use of outdoor skippers meetings to minimise the risk of Covid transmission, no formal indoor congregation of competitors in the evenings throughout the event and our prize giving this year will be held outdoors, at the beach, on the final day of competition.
Further detail on all procedures will be detailed in amended 2020 competitors packs which will be provided to all competitors shortly after closure of online entry for the 2020 event. Potential competitors should note that online entries will not be accepted for the 2020 event after midnight on Friday 11th September. This is the deadline date for entries for this years event.

In the meantime, if you haven’t done so already, get your ferries and accommodation booked and get signed up! We are doing our ‘wind dances’ already!
